HERNANDEZ SIGNS WITH TULSA
November 22, 2007

Former Mission Prep star Adrian Hernandez has signed a national letter of intent with Tulsa University.  Hernandez becomes the second Mission Prep player in history to sign a DIvision One scholarship, joining Bass Yessoufou ('04) who is currently playing at St. Francis (NY).  Hernandez joins a tradition rich program at the University of Tulsa where trips to the NCAA tournament are expected each and every year.  For more stories on Adrian Hernandez click on the following links:

ADRIAN HERNANDEZ
Quebradillas, Puerto Rico
Sophomore
Monterey Peninsula College

I came to California in the Summer of 2005 from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.  Although we are considered U.S. citizens, it seemed like I was moving to an entirely new world when I made the 4,000 mile trip out west.  Now that I've been here for three years, I don't want to leave.

I have been very lucky to attend a great high school where everyone truly cared about me improving not only on the basketball court and in the classroom, but improving as a young man as well.  Now I'm attending Monterey Peninsula College and I will be transferring to a Division One university after my sophomore year.

Life always throws us difficulties and the way we react to those difficulties defines who we are.  I have seen many of my friends back in my native Puerto Rico chose the wrong path and I know that I have been so lucky to have the opportunity to study in the States.  I've had great mentors and guidance and I know that I will always remember those who helped me achieve my dreams and hopefully in the future I can help other kids achieve their dreams.

Thank you to all of those who have provided me with guidance, love and direction.
