ATHLETES TO AFRICA II September 10 2008
A return trip to Africa is in the planning stages. In March of 2008, Tom Mott led a group of 26 to South Africa for 9 days that changed their lives. This April the destinations are Senegal and South Africa and the group will probably be larger than 26. Invitations to selected players will be sent on October 15th. In addition, we will offer a select number of "student" spots for other Central Coast students who are interested in the trip. If you know someone who might be interested have them contact Tom Mott at tmott@1dreamfoundation.com . Itinerary and pricing will be sent out on October 15th.

UPDATES ON THE DREAMERS September 10 2008
The 1 Dreamers are scattered all around the United States and after a couple of weeks of school under their belts here are some news and notes: Zsolt Lakosa and Adam Hajer (Salisbury School) are going to be doing a lot of studying. They are at one of the top academic schools in the nation and they have some serious classes. Zsolt's schedule is: Calculus, American Literature, American History, Chemistry, Spanish, PE and Philosophy while Adam is taking: Honors Biology, AP Calculus, , Weights and Fitness, Spanish 2, American History, Journalism, and American Literature. Georges Massoda is adjusting well at Forsyth Country Day (North Carolina). English is Georges 3rd language so he's spending a lot of hours trying to be perfect. In his spare time he's been to a Wake Forest football game, the Wake Forest Elite Camp and is working hard on improving on the basketball court. Ibrahim Salih is having a great time at Glenelg (Maryland). Salih is always eager to share a smile and is dedicating himself to his studies and his school. Jonathan Velez is attending Seneca Valley (Maryland) and he's fitting right in. He's been on campus visits at American University and the University of Maryland. A strong season could propel him to choosing between several schools. Francisco Luano is enjoying the heat and humidity of Central Florida. Enjoying the college life, Francisco is being pushed like never before, both in the classroom and on the court. Marc Bourgault decided to remain in France for his senior year. We look forward to him returning in the summer of 2009. Bebe Vargas is in Seattle living with a great host family that has really taken in Bebe as one of their own. As the youngest member of 1 Dream, Vargas' situation is a bit more complex than the others due to the poor education system in the Dominican and his youth. Bebe is determined to put in the time and effort necessary for success.
