VELEZ PUTTING UP SOME NUMBERS

Jonathan Velez scored 20 points in helping Seneca Valley improve to 13-2 on the season with a 68-52 victory over Damascus.  Seneca Valley has now won 7-straight games and Velez is averaging 16ppg. 

ADAM AND ZSOLT COME UP BIG

Hungarians Adam Hajer and Zsolt Lakosa each had huge games in helping lead the Salisbury School to a 61-45 victory over Campus Community School.  Hajer erupted for 31 points while Lakosa added 24 points as Salisbury improves to 13-4 on the season.

GEORGES HELPS FORSYTH TO ANOTHER WIN

Georges Massoda scored 9 points and was a force on the boards to help Forsyth Country Day to their 20th victory of the season with an 84-72 victory over Waccamaw.  Forsyth improves to 20-4 on the season.

IBRAHIM HAS HUGE GAME

Ibrahim "Anyars" Salih had his best game of the season for the Glenelg Dragons as he had 14 points and 20 rebounds in their 60-48 loss to St. Mary's.  Glenelg falls to 11-9 on the season.

SAN LUIS OBISPO WINS BATTLE OF SLO
January 24, 2009
San Luis Obispo High School used their depth and senior leadership to pull away for a 50-40 victory over Mission Prep.  Nearly every player in the game had ties to the 1 Dream Foundation by either participating in the Athletes to Africa or the 1 Dream Fall League.  Leading the way for the SLO Tigers was Julian Demalleville who scored 10 points and added 10 rebounds.  Leading the way for Mission Prep were Robbie Souza with 13 points and Jerry Casey with 10 points.

BIG GEORGES CONTINUES TO IMPROVE

Georges Massoda continued his strong play in helping Forsyth Country Day to a 71-53 victory over Wesleyan.  Massoda scored 10 points and added 7 rebounds for the Furies who improved to 19-4 on the season.  For more information: http://furiesonline.com/

IBRAHIM CONTINUES HIS REBOUND

Ibrahim Salih is continuing to get his strength back after missing several games due to sickness and his most recent effort was a 9 point, 10 rebound contribution as the Glenelg Country School defeated Friends School 81-39.  Ibrahim's "American" brother, Timmy Schenk scored a game high 19 points for the Dragons as they improved to 11-7 on the season.

MARCO BOURGAULT DRAWING A LOT OF INTEREST

Frenchman Marco Bourgault is having an outstanding season playing for Cholet (France).  A 6'5" shooting guard, Bourgault is currently drawing the interest of some of the top colleges in the nation including teams in the ACC, Big East and SEC.  Bourgault is scheduled to take the SAT this Saturday in Paris.  Stay tuned for more recruiting developments.

IBRAHIM BACK ON THE COURT
January 11, 2009
Ibrahim Salih isn't used to the East Coast winter and the cold weather kept him off the court for a few games as he battled flu-like symptons.  He's back now and working his way back into shape scoring 10 points for the Glenelg Dragons in their heart breaking 51-50 loss to Annapolis Christian.  With the loss Glenelg dropps to 8-6 on the season.

BEBE VARGAS GOES SNOWBOARDING AND ICE SKATING

Dominicans don't see much snow and thus Bebe Vargas was a little nervous about his first trip to the mountains.  However with the helping hand of his host family, Vargas might just be ready for the X-Games.  Vargas is also having an outstanding year at St. Joseph where he is averaging close to 13ppg for the JV team.

HUNGARIANS ARE DOUBLE TROUBLE

The Hungarian tandem of Zsolt Lakosa and Adam Hajer have helped the Salisbury School to a 11-2 record.  In their recent victory over Worcester Prep, the two combined for 49 of the team's  60 points with Hajer scoring 27 and Lakosa 22. 

VELEZ STARTS NEW YEAR WITH A BANG

Jonathan Velez continued his outstanding season with a 29 point outburst versus Watkins Mill.  Velez followed that up with a 13-point performance in limited minutes in a blowout win over Rockville.  Seneca Valley is now 9-2 on the season and Velez is averaging 18ppg.

MASSODA HELPS LEAD FORSYTH TO HUGE WIN
January 10, 2009
Georges Massoda MaNgoue helped Forsyth Country Day upset #2 ranked Ravenscroft 53-51.  MaNgoue only scored 4 points, but he helped limit Duke signee Ryan Kelly to a season low in points.  Forsyth Country Day, coached by former NBA player Rusty LaRue is now 16-3 on the season. http://furiesonline.com/basketball_boys.asp
