5th ANNUAL 1 DREAM FALL LEAGUE TO TIP OFF IN OCTOBER
September 3, 2009

The Fall League is back for year number 5 with a slightly different format.  This year the league will be held exclusively on Saturdays to ensure students will not have school and football conflicts.  There will be two games per Saturday, with the league being held at both St. Joseph HS (Santa Maria) and Mission Prep ( San Luis Obispo).  For more information click on the image at the top of this page.

BIG GEORGES MASSODA WITH SEVERAL OFFERS

Cameroonian Georges Massoda who attends Forsyth Country Day (NC) had an outstanding summer and now has several scholarship offers in hand including: High Point, Elon, UNC Asheville and many others.  A great job has been done by the Forsyth staff in getting Georges to reach his potential.

IBRAHIM "ANYARS" SALIH ENTERS HIS SENIOR YEAR

Ibrahim Salih has returned to Glenelg School to complete his senior year with the Dragons.  Glenelg has been an incredible home for Salih over the past 12 months and looks to have another outstanding season.

DANIEL GOMIS ATTENDING SCHOOL IN IDAHO

Daniel Gomis is attending the Community School in Sun Valley, Idaho.  Gomis, who is a native of Senegal has been receiving lots of attention from some high majors including UCONN, Georgetown, Virginia Tech, UNLV, Oregon State and several others.

HUNGARIANS SCATTERED ALL OVER THE USA

Two more Hungarians have arrived in the USA with the addition of Akos Lakosa and Gergo Jenei arriving at Salisbury School in Maryland.  Fellow Hungarians, Ziggy Vrana is attending Woodberry Forest (VA) while Zsolt Lakosa is at Christian (CA). 


1 DREAMERS ARRIVE AT THEIR COLLEGES
September 3, 2009

The 1 Dreamers are back in school with four 1 Dream Alumni ready to begin their freshman seasons.  Bawa Maniru (Indiana) and Marco Bourgault (Montana) are at the Division 1 level, while Jon Velez (Hill College) and Francisco Luano (Polk CC) are both on full scholarships at the junior college level.  In addition to the international 1 Dreamers, several other players with 1 Dream ties are continuing their careers at the college level: Mitch Woolpert (University of San Diego),  Adrian Hernandez (Fresno Pacific), Jerry Casey (San Jose State), Julian Demalleville (Monterey Peninsula), Shane Kennedy (San Francisco State), Robbie Souza (Western Arizona), Andrew Richardson (Cuesta)  and Scott Williams (Hancock) will all be suiting up this fall.  Congrats to all.

TOM MOTT NOW AT ST. JOSEPH

1 Dream Executive Director Tom Mott has been named the Athletic Director and Head Coach of St. Joseph High School in Santa Maria.  Mott returns to the high school game after a three year hiatus and inherits a team that finished last season with a 11-17 record.

MARK BEROKOFF NOW AT LOUISIANA TECH
September 3, 2009

Congratulations to Coach Mark Berokoff who was recently named to the coaching staff at Louisiana Tech.  Berokoff  joins  the Bulldogs who are coming off of a 15-18 record last season and are a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).

The 1 Dream Foundation is committed to providing educational and mentoring opportunities for disadvantaged students from around the world.  These students shall receive a fully sponsored high school and college education so that upon receiving their college degree they can return to their homeland and better serve their people.
